Vic coffee shop at coo corner

We visited the Shop @ Coo Corner, a fantastic lifestyle and gift shop nestled in the heart of the Wye Valley, Herefordshire and one of our most successful trade customers. The Shop @ Coo Corner is situated in Fownhope, a small village in Herefordshire, right next to the River Wye, very popular with walkers and wild swimmers in the area. The artisan gift shop showcases designers and makers from Herefordshire, the UK and further afield. Their focus is on environmentally friendly, ethically produced and gorgeous products.

The Shop @ Coo Corner, owned by Vic Cooper, explains, "We endeavour to source lifestyle and gift solutions from sustainable, repurposed and recyclable materials. We stock a diverse range of giftware, homewares and lifestyle items including refillable household and beauty products."

The shop is a mecca of fabulous, quirky and unique products, beautiful craftsmanship and you are guaranteed to find delights to suit everyone. They also have a range of pre-loved clothes featuring some top designer labels alongside some wonderful high-street brand pieces.

But it's not just a shop; Vic was determined to make Coo Corner a focal point for visitors to the area, and right from the beginning wanted to create a café area. "We felt a café was intrinsic to becoming a destination place, to have that chill out and relax while you browse space, somewhere to meet friends for the local residents, and a nice place to stop off at for all the walkers."

Coo Corner serves delicious cakes and brownies in the café, specialising in vegan and gluten free recipes, organic hot chocolate, speciality teas and our very own Get in the Mood, Brilliant Raccoon coffee. When we asked how their customers reacted to the coffee, we were thrilled when Vic replied "They love it; those who are drinking it always comment how delicious it is. They love the addition of a Panda or Fancy Cat coffee stencil chocolate topping too! That always brings a smile - it's all about the detail."

Vic chose Get in the Mood Coffee after finding out that our ethical values closely aligned with the values of the Shop @ Coo Corner. At Moods HQ, we value working with suppliers of goods and services who adopt best environmental practices and procure goods from sustainable sources wherever possible. We responsibly follow the mantra of DO IT RIGHT : HAPPY PLANET and this ties in perfectly with the ethics that Coo Corner have adopted.

Vic says that although they looked into wholesale coffee contracts where the coffee was provided by the same supplier as the coffee machine, they chose Get in the Mood Coffee because we stood out as being top quality as well as fun and original.

"We wanted the value added aspect that an independent coffee supplier offers. Quality is key, but also provenance. We know how our coffee's made and can relax knowing our supplier also shares values that are important to us. Price was a significant factor, but the values are even more important. Oh and of course it has to taste fantastic too!"

Not only does the café serve our Brilliant Raccoon coffee, but it proved so popular that Vic also stocks the retail bags in the shop where they are jumping off the shelves!

"When our customers really love the coffee we make, they nearly always buy the ground coffee retail bags. The bold packaging is eye-catching and customers can easily see its a great gift to send a coffee lover. We get lots of repeat customers for both our coffee in store and retail bags!" says Vic.
